Father's Day

This year for father's day we relaxed at home and went swimming (pretty much what we do every day in the summer!)  We had a fun day with the kids and unfortunately, I didn't any pics of Scott and the kids but I took some picks of his gifts.
Aidan picked out this DVD as his gift to Dad.  He is so funny in that he always picks something he wants!
Ava picked out this shirt for Dad.  His favorite car is a Shelby Mustang so he loves it!
Boardshorts from wifey.  Can never have too many of these in AZ!
And his new bike from wifey.  Now we can take family bike rides!
I love that this bike has a drink holder...or should I say beer can holder!
The back rack is perfect for carrying our Boche Balls to the park.  Cool seat too.

Hula Bowl-A-Thon

For the last 3 years I have participated in the Hula bowl-a-thon with my co-workers.  It is a fundraising event for Junior Achievement.  Its a great cause and we have so much fun each year.
Scott loved the pink Hawaiian shirts

Camping - Mogollon Rim

The kids have been asking to go camping for so long and we finally found a weekend that worked for us.  The four of us and a few of our friends - Denise & Burpee, John and his son Andrew - went to the Mogollon Rim to camp for a couple of nights.  That is our favorite place to camp because its not an actual campground so you don't have other campers right next to you.  It is off the highway at mile marker 277.  We take the dirt road back and cross our fingers that we find a place right on the rim so we have a view to enjoy.  Unfortunately this year we had a late start and did not get a premier site right on the rim but we still had a lot of fun.  It was wonderful to get out of the hot weather.  It was 80s during the day and down to the 50s in the evening....perfect.  Even a little cold!

Home Sweet home for the weekend
We set up 2 big cots in the tent for kids.  We didn't have enough room for our air mattress so we slept in the back of the pickup with our pop up over us as a tent.

This is my favorite...Pooper/Shower.  Yes, you can really take a hot shower in there as well.

There was a festival in the small town of Pine just south of the rim so we checked it out Saturday.  They had a bunch of booths selling all sorts of things, food, and a kids bouncy area.
Aidan loved it.  He did all sorts of back flips.

So did Ava.  Although it was a little tougher for her to get around, she still pulled it off!

They also had fun in the hammock.  I can't even count how many times Ava fell off that thing.

We had a great time and look forward to going next time!

Yellow Belts

Aidan and Ava tested to get their yellow belts in Karate and they both passed!!!  Unfortunately Scott and I couldn't make it to the yellow belt ceremony so I didn't any pics of the kids.  I did get a pic of their award ribbons though that they are awfully proud of!!!

Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day weekend couldn't come fast enough for me this year.  I was so happy to finally go home to meet baby Colton!  I miss my family so much and now that Colton is here, I miss them even more.
It was a great weekend!  We spent a bunch of time with Colton, went to the Long Beach Aquarium and sent the day at the beach on Sunday.  Heather had a shadow for the weekend.  Whatever she did - nurse, change Coltons diaper, etc - Ava was right there.  She was very cute with him.  Seems like it comes naturally to her - scary!  Aidan enjoyed meeting Colton too but the highlight of his trip was hanging out with Rusty.  He loves that dog and says its his best friend.  When we got in the car to leave he started to tear up and said he already misses Rusty!  The trip was fantastic.  It just went by way to fast.  Everytime is hard to leave but this time more than normal.  I love that munchkin sooo much.  Next time we see him, he will be so big.
Scott had to take a truck to Blythe on the way so kids took turns riding with him.
 So cute.  Lunch at Knolwoods...yum
She couldn't wait.  She was the first to hold him!
Aidan held him for about a minute then was over it.
Love this pic!  Can't wait until he's holding ours :)

Talent Show

This year Aidan was in the school talent show.  He was so excited the day of the auditions.  He called us and said he made the show.  Then he told us "everyone made it!"  We practiced all weekend prior to that Monday to perfect his act.  For his act, he showed off his karate moves and his Spiderman moves.  He had 10 or so moves for each.  He started with Karate then Spiderman.  The day of the show was that Friday.  It was done in front of the whole school and parents.  The auditorium was packed and I thought he might get nervous but he soaked up every second of being on stage.  Afterwards on the way back to class he had a bunch of little girls huddled around him while he was still in his Spiderman outfit.  Priceless!!!  We were so proud.  Hopefully next year Ava will join in the fun too.
